NEMA Accepting Project Submissions for FEMA BRIC Program
RELEASE DATE: Apr 13, 2026
NEMA is actively seeking natural hazard risk-reduction infrastructure and construction projects across Nebraska to submit for consideration under FEMA’s FY24–FY25 Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program. NEMA welcomes projects of all sizes, from small local improvements to major infrastructure projects, as long as they align with BRIC’s focus on construction-ready, resilience-enhancing mitigation activities.
NEMA encourages Nebraska jurisdictions to bring forward any project that reduces risk to people, property, or critical services—urban or rural, large or small—to be reviewed and prioritized for FEMA review. The Hazard Mitigation Unit stands ready to assist in assembling competitive project applications for FEMA funding.
Eligible Subapplicants
- State governments
- Local governments (cities, counties, villages)
- Federally recognized Tribal Nations and tribal organizations
- Natural Resource Districts, Public Power Districts, Emergency Management Agencies
- Certain nonprofit organizations
NEMA will be conducting two NOFO Briefings for potential subapplicants to learn the program requirements and important dates. If you are interested in or know of a community or entity that may be interested in a possible BRIC project, please consider joining one of the BRIC NOFO Briefings.
