The Radiological Systems Manager (RSM) is responsible for the quarterly operational checks of radiological equipment issued to emergency first responder agencies within the counties surrounding the nuclear power stations and for the annual calibration this equipment.
The RSM is also responsible for the repair and calibration of equipment issued to emergency first responder agencies throughout the 93 Nebraska counties on a four-year rotation.
Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) at NEMA is organized to provide planning, training, development and evaluation of state and local REP programs. REP staff work with federal, state, and local governments, business and industry in the development of radiological emergency capabilities necessary to ensure public safety and protection in the event of a radiological emergency.
NEMA’s Technical Hazards Section (THS) includes Radiological Emergency Preparedness and the State’s Emergency Response Commission.
