The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) shipments will be resuming their routes through the State of Nebraska; and local fire departments along the I-80 Corridor who may be called on to respond to an incident/accident are required to complete annual trainings to support this program. One benefit to this training is that will also fulfil your training requirements for 29 CFR 1910.120 or the NFPA 472 and 473 Standards for radiation training and many response training requirements for CBRNE.

This 20 hour course is designed to meet the required objectives of NIMS.  The class builds on the prerequisites IS 100, 200, 700 and 800 courses and is a pre-requisite for the ICS 400 course.

This course is designed to provide Continuity training for program managers at the Federal, State, Local, and Tribal levels of government. Continuity Guidance Circular 1 provides guidance to the State’s, Territories, Tribes, and Local Government Jurisdictions for developing Continuity Plans and Programs that facilitate the performance of essential functions during any situation which may disrupt normal operations. The goal of this workshop is to provide you with the tools and hands-on experience necessary to improve your departments’ or agencies’ Continuity Plan. This training includes a train-the-trainer module to equip the managers to facilitate the course to others.


Training should be completed by Federal, State, Local, and Tribal personnel who are responsible for managing a Continuity Program.


Successful completion of Continuity Managers Train-the-Trainer Course (B/E/L/IS 548); or completion of Independent Study (IS) 546 Continuity of Operations (COOP) Awareness Course and IS 547 Intro to COOP; or completion of the University of Maryland COOP course.

This 12-hour course provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to design and implement an Evacuation and Re-Entry Plan for their jurisdictions. It uses a community’s Vulnerability Analysis and Evacuation Plan. It also addresses evacuation behavior and recommends methods to make evacuation and reentry more efficient. This course does not address the decision to evacuate or re-enter. Course Objectives: • Describe types of situations that necessitate evacuation. • Describe the types of modeling tools for evacuation planning.

Who should attend: The persons responsible for planning, implementing, and carrying out evacuations within a jurisdiction. This includes, but is not limited to, Federal/State/Local/Tribal/ Private Sector & Nongovernmental personnel. The target audience includes personnel associated with: On-scene Incident Command, EOCs and Multiagency Coordination (MAC) System entities.  Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS, Hospitals, Medical Care Providers, Public Works, Volunteer Organizations and Emergency Managers.
