MERRTT is a modular course that provide 16 modules and hands-on experiences that equips first and emergency responders with the fundamental knowledge for responding to transportation incidents involving radiological material and builds on training in existing hazardous materials curricula. MERRTT satisfies the training requirements outlined in the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) Land Withdrawal Act.
Who should attend:
NHIT, paid and volunteer firefighters, particularly those with responsibilities along the I-80 corridor, EMS, local emergency managers; owners/operators of facilities with responsibilities for transporting radioactive materials.
There is no fee to attend this course.
